What is PivotOnPurpose?

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that the future is uncertain.
Just in the last six months business-as-usual has been rocked by fires, pandemics and a global reckoning on racial justice.

Who knows what 2021, or even the rest of 2020, will bring!

That’s why it is crucial for every organisation to be getting ready for that future by developing the skills and mindset of pivotability.

Pivot on Purpose is a mini-Summit focused on helping you do just that. It features a free panel and series of short talks on Tuesday July 28 followed by a series of Masterclasses over the coming weeks.

What is Pivotability?

It’s the ability to pivot mindfully and in the pursuit of your purposeful goals. It’s about being cognizant of technology and political trends which are changing the culture. It’s about setting a course, not just being forced by events to make rapid adaptations – although you will probably be forced to do this too.

It’s about Pivoting on Purpose.

This masterclass brings together experts and practitioners on the art and science of pivotability.

It features social entrepreneurs on the front lines, telling stories of how they’ve had to pivot to survive the COVID crisis and continue to serve their community in a time of great uncertainty.

Over the four Wednesdays in August we host a series of masterclasses to help you build your pivotability tool-kit, followed by an exclusive networking event to meet others on the journey. We want to make sure you have the right mindset, models and marketing to pivot, whenever you need to.

Mindset

To be ready for the future we need a mindset that is adaptable. The future is unpredictable and unexpected things will occur. When they happen, will you have the mental strength and resilience to adapt with it, and inspire your team and collaborators to come with you in the face of uncertainty?

Models

Being ready for change is having the right tools/models in your toolkit, if the situation requires them. Our masterclasses will explore some of the key approaches to adaptation, from human-centred design, brand-building, crowdfunding and growing your community online.

Marketing

Ultimately, in business, success often comes down to telling the right story to the right people. You know, marketing. This isn’t about selling “stuff”, it’s about sharing ideas and inspiring action. Pivotability requires thinking strategically about how your story and your audience are changing too.

DAY 1 Tuesday July 28 5:30 - 7:30pm AEST

Why You Need To Master Pivotability

Be Future Ready

The future is unpredictable. The only way to be ready is to have the skills and mindset of Pivotability. With these you can see opportunity in uncertainty and keep moving towards the future you seek.

Be Pro-Active

Pivoting on Purpose is about being ahead of the curve. Having the skills, confidence and insight needed to make strategic, intentional changes, rather than being forced to change.

Be Purpose-Led

Things always change but our goals shouldn’t. We need to stay committed to our “north star”, our purpose, even as we pivot to new ways of pursuing it.

Be a Leader

Pivotability is leadership. To be able to inspire a tribe of collaborators, supporters and customers to see your vision and come with you on the journey and make it real.

BONUS: Exclusive Speed Networking Event
Hosted by Luke Faccini,
The Sponge

Join us for Speed Networking for Good Online, wherever you are in the world.
The purpose of this event is to help you get to know other awesome people in the community and fuel potential collaborations.

While the name suggests Networking, there is a twist: We pose a different question. Not “What do you do?” rather “What are you passionate about changing in the world?” Or “What cause lights you up?” That is how we connect over shared purpose.

The speed networking will commence with a warm welcome by your host and some basic rules and instructions. We use breakout rooms with 10 mins per pair, with equal focus intended for each person, then automatic change over. Follow the instructions and you’ll be fine.

We will provide some opening questions in the welcome to promote profound connections, so you won’t be stuck for words. In fact, it’s better if you don’t come with prepared conversations, rather be yourself!.
